You may have these birds around your house and never know it. They are quite secretive and hardly ever appear in the open unless they are moving from one clump of shrubs to another across the yard. It says its name "towhee, towhee." It is interesting to note that we have several pairs of towhees on the campus. They live in the low shrub between the theater and the library.
