| (47)Brown-headed Cowbird
This bird is smaller than a Robin. The Brown-headed Cowbird is also
known for its parasitic habits. The female will seek out and find the
nests of other bird species, lay their eggs, and leave them to be raised
by other host parent. The host parent is usually much smaller than the
young black birds. The young brown-headed cowbirds will hatch out and
pitch out the host babies in order to get the lions share of the food. |
