| (23) Carolina Chickadee The Carolina Chickadee, the Tufted Titmouse, the
White-breasted Nuthatch, the Brown-headed Nuthatch, and the Brown Creeper often roam the
woods in small bands. For hours the woods may be perfectly quiet until the arrival of this
noisy entourage. It is a cavity nester and will occasionally take up residence in a
bluebird nest box. These birds like the others in this family are insect eaters. |
