The Interactive Museum (TIM)
TIM has moved ! Our new location at the entrance to Birmingham- Southern College
is more than twice the size of the original location TIM occupied in BSC's Library between
1994 and 1997.
TIM provides hands-on exhibits and multimedia presentations suitable for
all age groups. The museum's focus is on how individual efforts can make significant
contributions toward safeguarding the environment. The museum features a multi-story house
juxtaposed over the deep end of the pool, which can be accessed by sliding down a giant
sewage pipe. Interactive exhibits focus on ozone, water quality, and energy issues, while
computer terminals provide information about topics ranging from local paint recycling
programs, to urban forestry issues.

Get tips on environmentally friendly household products, activate urban
runoff pollutants on an urban watershed diorama, or play the Wheel of Waste game. TIM has
been recognized at both the regional and national level for its innovative approach to
environmental education.
